# About Katie

I'm Katie Crawford, a fitness and nutrition coach and athlete based in Salt Lake City. I work remotely with clients across the country.

I care a lot about training. I also have a life that refuses to organize itself around the gym. I'm a mom with ADHD, which has made me less interested in perfect plans and much more interested in plans people can return to when a week gets messy.

## How I think about coaching

Wanting to change how your body looks is a valid reason to train. I take that goal seriously, including the effort it requires and how it fits with the rest of your life.

Evidence gives me a place to start. Then I look at how you're responding and whether you've been able to follow the plan. A program can look excellent on paper and still be wrong for the person trying to live with it.

I want you to understand what you're doing and why, especially when the work gets hard. You should know what the effort is for and how we'll judge whether it's helping.

## What guides this work

### The work should earn its place

The gym has an endless supply of ways to make something harder. I care whether the extra work moves the goal or just makes your week more crowded.

### Pay attention to what happens

I look at your progress, performance, recovery, and how consistently you've followed the plan. Sometimes we need an adjustment. Sometimes we need more time before drawing a conclusion.

### Health stays in the conversation

I care about physique goals, and I care what it costs to reach them. Some goals call for a demanding stretch of training and nutrition. That effort should have a clear purpose, and you should understand the tradeoffs.

### Your business stays yours

Coaching can involve sensitive details about your body and your life. I treat those details with privacy and respect.

## What coaching means to me

I want coaching to make the work clearer. You should know what matters right now and why. If your schedule changes or something feels wrong, tell me. That information belongs in the decision.

If something is not working, I will say so. If the plan needs more consistency from you, I will say that too, and I expect the same honesty in return.

You are trusting me with goals that may feel personal and vulnerable. I take that seriously, even when the practical answer is wonderfully unglamorous.

I take the work seriously. I do not expect either of us to pretend every week will cooperate.
